Homes designed by Coco Kanakis are best described as elevated, bold, and often unexpected—a nod to her own energetic and playful nature. The inspiration for her distinctly curated designs are the lives lived within them—the unique essence of each client. You will find Coco's own story subtly woven throughout her portfolio as well, in particular her European upbringing, penchant for wellness, and architectural background. Before launching her interior design career, Coco earned her Bachelor of Art in Architecture with Honors at the University of Westminster and her Post-Graduate Diploma in Design Studies at Central Saint Martins School of Design in London. She later attended the New York School of Interior Design where she earned her Associate Degree in Interior Design with distinction. You will find her work featured in both New York Cottages & Gardens and Hamptons Cottages & Gardens, as well as in national ad campaigns for Sub-Zero, Poggenpohl and Geberit, published in magazines such as Architectural Digest and Elle Décor.
From her studio in Chappaqua, New York, Coco runs her namesake boutique firm. Along with her intimate team of experts, she works closely with each client in a process that is equal parts efficient and empowering. Together, they create homes that impact every moment of their clients' lives, from the smallest daily rituals to the most memorable experiences. When she is not designing, you can find Coco with her family horse-riding, skiing, treetop climbing, and white-water rafting, or enjoying chocolate in its various forms.
